Seems like this should be the title of the entire blog, huh? Fear not, I do have one complete project...the guest bath. It was this very dark brown color, but not anymore. I hope that the new color will show correctly when placed online. They'll be posted soon. I really do not have much else to say, but wanted to post a quick note. Have a good week, all!

Giveaway
Most of you in my neck of the woods know about the Cricut (which I always type as circut). Well, there's also something called a Silhouette and it serves about the same function. I've been wanting something like that and now I have a chance to enter a giveaway for it. You should enter, too. The link is below. Good luck!

Total Inspiration
I was browsing through my daily blogs and was directed to another blog for a cute silhouette of kids picture. This new blog, The NieNie Dialogues, is absolutely amazing. I read it from the beginning. If you're looking for some fun and inspiration give it a try. Warning: It can get very heart wrenching at times. Here's the link - http://nieniedialogues.blogspot.com/.

Deadline?
Apparently, I should never set deadlines for myself. At any rate, the pictures I wanted to post of the quilt are below. I can't decide if I like it or not...possibly because there is a lot of pink in it. I have backups to give as presents, though, such as cute, baby hair clips. The quilt has not been sewn together yet because I just found the plug and pedal a few days ago. Time to get to work!
A bunch of pieces for the quilt
The quilt pieces together. The center and corners will actually be pinwheels.

Quilt
Hello, friends! I've been working on a quilt for the past week or so. All of the pieces have been cut and I've decided where I want each piece placed. I need to sew it all together now, but I haven't been in the mood. I desperately need to clean my house, too. My plans for the day were cancelled (Meg's sick :-( but I get to see her next weekend for a BBQ) and I just want to lay around the house, play with Alexander and Ivan, and not do any work. This is my only free weekend for the next month, though, so I should really clean/work inside and out. Ivan, of course, is already outside mowing our weed covered lawn. Once Alexander takes a nap I suppose I'll start cleaning the bathrooms and kitchen, then work my way to the bedrooms and living room. Maybe I'll start sewing tonight while Ivan and I watch a movie. I have pictures of my quilt pieces and how I want it to look when together. I need to get pictures off of my camera and put them online. I haven't downloaded pictures from my camera since the holidays. Maybe that will be my goal for the week - upload quilt pictures to the blog and have most of the sewing for the quilt complete. Peace!

delicious
No, I'm not about to write about food or recipes. ;-) delicious is a social bookmarking website. I update my account almost daily, so that may be somewhere you can look to see what I'm looking at everyday. There are a few blogs or websites that I read daily...my standards. Those are probably listed as the earliest saves in my delicious account. Anyway, here's my link - http://delicious.com/skyshyne That's all for my update today!

Books!
I ordered some books and they were just shipped yesterday and weren't supposed to get here until Saturday. Surprise! They were here today. :-) What did I get, you ask? The first book is called Sew Everything Workshop. It covers the basics and has some projects/patterns to try. Most people know that I cannot use a sewing machine. They hate me. I'm sure it's not any problem on my end, but just in case I ordered the book. I can't wait to start a project. The other book? Singer Upholstery Basics Plus. I think I read about the 1st edition from Jenny at Little Green Notebook. I was going to get that one, but this updated version was the same price and had a few more projects. I think I'm going to ask my mom if I can reupholster one of her old chairs...it is in very, very poor condition.
And I haven't forgotten about my studio. I still have a couple of more weeks of recovery from surgery. I want to talk with the doctor before I do anything. I'm supposed to wait for approval to exercise, so I'll include moving heavy objects with that. I'll keep everyone posted!

Semi-Update
Well, my studio had to go on hold. I had surgery a few weeks ago and just got back to work. I'm still in recovery for another couple of weeks and see the doctor for a post-op at the beginning of April. I just hope I'm cleared to exercise on that day. I never thought I'd say I missed exercising, but I can definitely say that now. :-) Recovery is going great, though, so my Ivan and I are very happy!
I'm wanting to start a few projects, but life, of course, is getting in the way. Some busted pipes in the guest bathroom have caused a problem. We need to make sure the basement gets dried, the guest bathroom sink gets fixed, and we need to rip up the carpet in our closet that got soaked during the process. At least I have a legitimate reason to redo that bathroom. Yay!!
Also, I want to mention a giveaway on ROOM REMIX - the blog. ROOM REMIX is great blog and has great ideas for inspiration and DIY projects. I highly suggest checking it out. The giveaway is on the March 15, 2010 post.

Weekend Joy
The studio is at a standstill. I have surgery on Tuesday, so I'm more focused on that event. There will not be much of a point in finishing the room when I probably won't be able (or wanting) to walk up stairs for a couple of weeks.
Last night we had a pity party with some friends and neighbors. One of the neighbors is having surgery on Monday and another had a bad fall and is on crutches. We think there's something in the water here. haha It was a great time, though. One of the reasons we bought a house instead of continuing to rent was for socializing and having good times. I think this is the first time we've actually talked to our neighbors on a regular basis, let alone hang out with them, since we've been married (which has only been 3.5 years). I guess the third time's a charm and our third dwelling did the trick. :-)
And here's hoping that two weeks stuck in bed will mean a fun new layout for the bliggity blog.

Shoes
I am not the type of person to go all googly over shoes, but I am in love with these:

The off-white at the bottom are my favorite...I think. I showed them to Ivan and he didn't even look at them before saying, "Are they Converses." haha Obviously, this means that I am not a heels person, either. That is my pointless post of the day.

A Short Update
I wanted to make a little update while I had a break. I have several things going at the moment. I'm in the process of redesigning a master bedroom, a workspace, and my art room. It's all going rather slow at the moment, but it will all come together soon. I also want to redesign this blog. I'm not sure exactly how I want it to look yet, but let me know if anyone has any ideas. I'm off to continue my wifely and motherly duties. Cheers!

.5 Studio
The studio is halfway finished. I need to find a card catalogue to help organize small things like buttons, embroidery thread, etc. I want an older one, but if I can find a new one for a reasonable price then I'll get it. Many of the ones I'm finding look like catalogues, but are actually multimedia cabinets. Ugh! I've decided that I will be doing a quilt first. I'm quite horrible with a sewing machine so it will definitely take a while to make, but it may be neater. I think I'll eventually have to partner with someone on these types of projects...someone who is talented with a sewing machine.
This week I'm going to start organizing my fabrics. I'll also end up going to Jo-Ann fabrics in the near future (as soon as I find one that is near me). I'm sure there are some kind of outlet stores, too, that might have interesting fabrics. Who knows.
Wish me luck!

Studio
Well, maybe not a real one, but one in my bonus room. The far side will still be storage for Alexander's bins of clothes, boxes of books (we very much need to get more bookcases), and my darkroom equipment. The room will be divided though. The bookcases that are already upstairs will go along the wall with one on ecah side coming out from the wall and my room dividers will go between them so that I still have easy access to the back of the room. I'm probably going to hand artwork everywhere and connect it it somehow. Maybe like the first few pics in this blog post from Leanne Ellis. I'll post pictures once everything is complete. It might take a few days. The room stays cool during the winter and I'm an 80 degrees plus girl, so it'll definitely be slow going. Until next time....
