Another year

I thought I would be better about updating throughout the past year, but that obviously did not happen. I have been carrying a journal to write down ideas, stories, sketches, etc. I probably won't transfer that here, but I'm sure none of you mine. :-) I suppose 1 reason I haven't posted, besides pure laziness, is that Ivan and I have a beautiful and hilarious baby boy, Alexander, who was born in Augsut. He is supremely easy on us. I'm sure the next kid will not be as easy going, but here's hoping.

I'm wanting more and more to get back into artsy stuff. I've been following a few blogs the past few months and am totally enamoured with them. Some are on Blogger and I follow them, if you care to view them. I've been meaning to make some quilts for some time now. I have plenty of fabric, though it all doesn't match. I also want to do a shirt quilt. A friend of mine, Mandy, gave me the idea a few years ago. I have never been able to use a sewing machine, so the quilt(s) will all be hand stitched. English paper piecing might be the best way...at least I can take the patches with me when I go places if I care to do a little work while traveling.

Let's hope I can actually continue posting this year.
